Sun Safe Schools is designed for schools, along with disricts, board members, parent organizations, and other sun safety champions for students and staff in Southern California. With funding from the National Cancer Institute, health experts have designed this program to help you implement sun safety policies in your school.

With over 3.5 million cases of skin cancer estimated in the U.S. this year alone, it is particularly important for school-aged children to practice sun safety, and learn how to enjoy the outdoors safely.

Sun Safe Schools has compiled the most recent skin cancer research, sun safety curricula, an in-service training webinar, and sun safety programs to make it easier for you to bring sun safety into your school district.

This website, along with assistance from your sun safety coach, is here help you learn about skin cancer, then implement your school's policy and procedures to help protect students and staff from the harmful effects of the sun.
